Terms of Service

By installing the Overline Chrome extension or accessing any Overline service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use Overline. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Overline ("we", "us", or "our"). Questions can be sent to mehdi@oncillaai.com.

Overline is a Chrome browser extension that provides real-time AI-powered captions and live translation for audio playing in browser tabs. The service includes:

• Real-time speech-to-text transcription via Deepgram
• Live translation into supported languages via Google Gemini
• Transcript history saved to your account
• Export of transcripts as TXT and SRT files

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

You must sign in with a Google account to use Overline. By signing in, you authorize us to access your name and email address for account creation and communication purposes.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree not to use Overline to:

• Capture, transcribe, or translate content you do not have the right to access
• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the extension
• Use the service to train, fine-tune, or build competing AI models
• Automate, script, or otherwise abuse the service in ways that exceed normal human usage
• Share, resell, or sublicense access to the service

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

The Overline extension, website, logo, and all associated software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the service.

You retain ownership of any content you caption or translate using Overline. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely as required to provide the service (transcription, translation, storage of your transcripts).

Transcripts you generate belong to you. You may download, delete, or use them as you see fit.

Overline captions audio from third-party websites and services (YouTube, Netflix, Coursera, etc.). You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to caption and translate the content you access through those platforms. Overline does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content. Accessing third-party content through Overline remains subject to the terms and conditions of those third-party services.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
• Transcription or translation output will be accurate or complete
• The extension will work on every website or with every video format

AI-generated transcription and translation may contain errors. Do not rely on Overline output for safety-critical, legal, medical, or other high-stakes purposes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of Overline. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

You may stop using Overline at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account. To delete your account and all associated data, contact mehdi@oncillaai.com.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the extension at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Overline after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version is always available at this URL.
